As of now, you can contribute to the long-term security of the CSM and have your name associated with it in perpetuity.
The CSM board has established an endowment fund, the revenue from which will be used to meet future costs and will enable us to reduce our reliance on sponsors. The CSM staff and directors spend a considerable amount of time each year trying to attract sponsors. This time and energy could be spent improving the event itself.
Donors names will be associated with the CSM in perpetuity and those giving $100 or more will join the CSM Honour Roll.
Donors of $500 - $999 will be recognized as Jack Rabbit CSM Benefactors.
Donors of $1000 - $4999 will be recognized as Laurentian Shield CSM Benefactors.
Donors of $5000 + will be recognized as Gold CSM Benefactors.
Until we establish the conditions for other forms of donation, (e.g. a bequest in a will), a gift of cash is the best and simplest way to contribute to a securer future for the CSM.
We need to receive donations from as many people as possible: skiers, past and present, and other friends of the CSM. When we have a significant number of names, we will then approach the various levels of government for major contributions to the endowment fund. Therefore please donate even a small amount (say, $20) so that we can put your name on the list and build a better case for government support.
Send a cheque to the CSM Endowment Fund.
Note: at this stage, the CSM is unable to issue a charitable receipt for donations to the endowment fund.
